Houghton announces its inaugural program for a new permanent structure; The Armadillo arts pavilion. The talks feature leading figures like Samantha Morton, Richard Russell, Juan Atkins, Call Super, Dr G Burr, Dan Beaumont, African Head Charge, Reggie Watts.


The atmospheric new space set amongst the old growth trees in the Houghton Hall park was created by leading architects Unknown Works. The talks are sure to be popular with festival goers; touching on everything from conversations between the BAFTA fellowship winning acting great Samantha Morton with XL founder Richard Russell, The Guardian Global Music Critic and author of debut novel A Person Is A Prayer Ammar Kalia in conversation with the original pioneer of Detroit techno Juan Atkins, Call Super recording a live edition of RA’s much loved Playing Favourites feature, dub legends African Head Charge in conversation with Adrian Sherwood and the link between music and communal well being explored by Reggie Watts, Nick Bartsch and Safiyyah Nawaz. The conversations won’t all centre around music; meditation expert Dr G Burr will speak on the great mystery of the self.
